Every great athlete reviews tape. Craft is your tape. This lesson covers your first one: recording an appointment and reading what comes back.

Record the appointment

Open Craft, tap the microphone, run your appointment like normal. That’s the whole job.

(Setup details, Checkpoint, and audio tips are in Recording on Mobile.)

If the customer asks about it, you have one sentence ready:

“Do you mind if I use my AI note-taker so I can stay fully present and give you the best possible service?”

That’s real, by the way — the note-taker writes your appointment notes and builds your follow-up so you don’t type a thing tonight.

Your debrief arrives in minutes

After you end the recording, Craft sends you a debrief:

  • Two things you did well. Real moments, not generic praise.
  • One opportunity for improvement. One, on purpose. Fix one thing per appointment and you’re a different rep in a month.
  • Your score against your team’s sales process, step by step.
  • Analytics: talk speed, talk ratio, pauses. Am I talking too much? Too fast? Steamrolling the customer right when they’re deciding?

You see your film first. Your manager coaches from the same recordings, but the debrief is yours, minutes after the appointment, while it’s fresh.

How to read your score

Two truths that both matter:

  1. You can close a sale with a 60. The sale measures the outcome; the score measures the process. Closing on a 60 usually means the customer was ready despite steps you skipped — that’s a win to bank and film to study.
  2. You can lose a sale with a 98. Perfect process, wrong day, unready customer. The score says you did your job; the next one closes.

The score isn’t a grade on you. It’s a map of which steps showed up in the conversation. Over weeks, the pattern is what matters: if financing keeps scoring low and your average ticket is flat, those two facts are related.

New to the team, or new to Craft? Ignore the number for your first couple of weeks. Read the two-wins-one-opportunity and let the score settle in as the process becomes habit.

Do this today

Record your next appointment, read the full debrief the same day, and try the one improvement it suggests on the appointment after that.
