# 10DLC Compliance

> What Craft needs from you to register your brand and campaign for SMS.

To send SMS through Craft — [Speed to Lead](/help/speed-to-lead/overview), [Outbound Campaigns](/help/call-center-ai/outbound-campaigns), or the messaging agent — your business must be registered through **10DLC** (10-Digit Long Code), the US carrier registration system for business SMS. Craft files the registration on your behalf through our messaging provider, [Telnyx](https://support.telnyx.com/en/collections/3147004-10dlc-and-toll-free-text-messaging-compliance-guide), but we need you to supply the information below.

There are two pieces: a **brand** (your business) and one or more **campaigns** (the messaging use case). Both have to be filed and approved before you can send.

## Brand information

Filed once per business. Send these to your Craft contact at onboarding.

| Field                       | What it is                                                                                         |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Legal company name** | The exact name on your EIN registration. |
| **DBA / brand name** | Any "Doing Business As" name customers know you by. Use the legal name here too if there's no DBA. |
| **Legal entity type** | Private Company, Publicly Traded Company, Non-Profit, or Government. |
| **Country of registration** | Where your business is registered (typically US). |
| **EIN** | Your Employer Identification Number, exactly as it appears on IRS records. |
| **EIN issuing country** | Country that issued the EIN. |
| **Business address** | Street, city, state, zip. Must match the address on your EIN registration. **No PO boxes.** |
| **Stock symbol & exchange** | Only required if you're a publicly traded company. |

## Campaign information

Filed once per messaging use case. Most customers run one "Mixed" campaign that covers both Speed to Lead and outbound.

| Field                        | What it is                                                         |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Terms and Conditions URL** | Public link on your domain. Has specific requirements — see below. |
| **Privacy Policy URL** | Public link on your domain. Has specific requirements — see below. |

## Privacy policy requirements

Carriers fetch the URL you supply and read the policy directly. Three things have to be present, or the campaign is rejected:

1. **A dedicated SMS / messaging section** listing the data you collect when someone opts in (name, phone number, message content).
2. **An explicit no-sharing-for-marketing statement** — see the language below. This sentence has to override any general "we may share data with advertising platforms" clause elsewhere in the policy.
3. **Opt-out and help disclosure** — STOP to opt out, HELP for help, message and data rates may apply, frequency varies.

### Sample language

Paste this into your privacy policy under a heading like "SMS / Text Messaging." The **no-sharing** sentence should appear verbatim — carriers grep for it.

```text theme={null}
SMS / Text Messaging
When you opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect your name,
phone number, and the content of messages you send. We use this information
to respond to your inquiries, schedule appointments, and follow up about
services you have requested.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for
marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of personal data
exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information
will not be shared with any third parties.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for
assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
```

## Terms and conditions requirements

Hosted on your own domain alongside the privacy policy. Carriers check that the document is reachable via a normal link (popups don't count) and contains the following:

1. **Brand / program name** — identifies who's sending.
2. **Description of the messaging program** — what kinds of messages consumers will receive.
3. **Message frequency disclosure** — e.g. *"Message frequency varies."*
4. **Rates disclosure** — *"Message and data rates may apply."*
5. **Opt-out instructions** — reply STOP to unsubscribe.
6. **Customer care contact** — an email or phone number for support.
7. **Reference to your privacy policy** — link to the privacy policy.

A short standalone "SMS Terms of Service" page on your website is usually the cleanest way to handle this.

## Timeline

* **Brand review:** instant for most, up to 1 business day for vetting edge cases.
* **Campaign review:** typically 1–5 business days.
